You can’t have a summertime BBQ without including a delicious, juicy burger on the menu. In fact, we think burgers are a delicious treat you can enjoy any time of year. While they make for a great picnic or party entrée, burgers are a tasty treat you can whip up any time of day.

If you’re accustomed to a traditional burger, you’ll love the additional of creamy Hollandaise sauce and a freshly poached egg. Our eggs benedict burger recipe is the versatile enough to serve for breakfast or dinner, and the whole family is sure to enjoy the satisfactory meal.

Don’t just take our word for it — find out for yourself! Follow our recipe for eggs benedict burgers below to enjoy a flavorful experience that takes your classic dish to the next level.

Directions

  1. Start by preparing the hollandaise sauce. Carefully crack and separate the egg yolks from the whites. Add the yolks and lemon juice to a mixing bowl. Mix entirely until all parts are thoroughly combined.
  2. Pour about a cup of water into a medium saucepan over medium heat. Configure a make-shift double boiler by placing a bowl over the pot. Make sure the bowl is big enough not to touch the water. Add ¾ cups of butter to the bowl and wait until it’s completed coated with melted butter.
  3. Slowly pour the egg mixture into the bowl. Remember to continue stirring the dish over the double boiler to prevent the egg from cooking. Allow the butter to mix with the egg and lemon juice mixture before removing the sauce from the heat.
  4. Add the burgers to a large skillet and cook over medium heat. Add the garlic and onions as the burger begins to sizzle. Flip the burger periodically and sprinkle salt, pepper, oregano and parsley on top as they begin to cook. Flip and cook the burgers for an additional 10 to 15 minutes.
  5. While the burgers cook, poach the eggs. Place a medium saucepan over medium heat and add enough water to fill half the pot. Add the vinegar and wait for the water to simmer. Carefully break each egg into the pot once the water starts to boil and cook them for roughly 3 minutes.
  6. Using a spoon, gently remove each egg. Line the eggs on a plate layered with napkins to absorb excess water. Set aside.
  7. Remove the burgers from the skillet. Add eight slices of toast to a toaster and remove once slightly browned. Add a patty and poached egg to each sandwich. Pour the desired amount of Hollandaise sauce on top and serve immediately.

You may already have your favorite burgers stored in a particular spot in your refrigerator’s freezer, but what about the eggs? No recipe is complete without farm-fresh eggs that add a naturally tasty flavor to your dishes. When it comes to eggs, Sauder’s is your go-to choice.
