Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350° F. If frozen, remove your pie crust from the freezer and allow roughly 10 to 15 minutes for it to thaw adequately. Prepare a pie pan or round cooking bowl with nonstick butter and set aside.
  2. Rinse and chop the florets of your fresh broccoli. When cutting, aim for small, bite-sized portions that amount to roughly 3 cups. Next, chop your onions into cubes and place them in the same bowl as the broccoli. Mince your garlic and add it to the vegetable mix, as well.
  3. In a medium skillet, cook your bacon over medium heat. Flip the pieces periodically, letting them cook for roughly 8 to 10 minutes. Once you achieve the desired level of crispiness, remove the bacon from the pan and place on a napkin or towel-lined plate to absorb excess grease. Set aside.
  4. Add roughly 1½ tablespoons of olive oil to a clean skillet over medium heat. Once heated, add your vegetable to the pan. Sprinkle your salt and pepper on top of your vegetable mixture. Cook for roughly 10 minutes, turning the vegetables once they start to soften and brown. Turn the heat down low and cover the pan with a lid.
  5. In a mixing bowl, thoroughly whisk the eggs, grated parmesan cheese and milk together. Set aside.
  6. Gently unwrap your pie crust and place it in the pie pan. Using your fingers, push the pie into the pan until the dough coats it evenly. Gently fold any edges hanging over the side to avoid burning.
  7. Add half your mozzarella and cheddar cheese to the bottom layer of the pie pan. Next, add your cooked vegetables into an even layer on top of the cheese. Finish the pie off by carefully pouring your egg mixture on top of the pie. Sprinkle the remaining half of your cheese on top.
  8. Cook your pie on the center rack of the oven for roughly 50 minutes. Insert a fork into the quiche to make sure it’s fully cooked — the fork should come out clean. Once the edges are slightly brown and the egg is fully cooked, remove your quiche from the oven and serve immediately.
